About Us
Plakous is a family business. My name is Lina and I love cooking like my mother and father made, in our birthplace in Northern Greece. I passed my love for cooking to my two children.
Our Products
My specialty is making,Greek stuffed pies. Feta Cheese Pie (Tyropita), Spinach Feta Pie
(Spanakotyropita), Spinach Pie (Spanakopita), Beef mince Pie (Kreatopita), Ham Cheddar Pie (Zamponotyropita), Chicken Pie (Kotopita), my Bougatsa the sweet one with vanilla-cinnamon custard cream made by me as well. I make the dough, open the filo pastry in a traditional way with my hands and a stick. The members of our team are trained by me.
Main dishes such as Mousakas, Gyros as my father made, marinating the meat, covering it and roasting slowly in the oven for some hours, Pastitsio, Meatballs cooked with fresh beef-mince in tomato and herbs, Beans cooked with tomatoes and herbs, Tagliatelle with mushrooms or bacon and cheeses, e.t.c.
Delicious Cakes, cookies (koulourakia), bread rolls. Apple pie, Baklavas, Carrot cake, Cheese Cake, Cake Orange-Vanilla with glaze on the top, Cake cocoa with Nutella on the top, Koulourakia (Greek cookies) Vanilla, Koulourakia cinnamon, Melomakarona and Kourabiedes (Greek traditional Christmas cookies), Tsoureki (Greek traditional Easter cake), Rice pudding made with milk from the local farm.
Our supplies are exactly what we use for home cooking. That means high quality wheat flour, milk butter, sunflower oil, olive oil, fresh milk, feta cheese, white cheese, ham, cheddar, spinach, eggs, fresh beef-mince, fresh chicken, fresh pork meat, tomatoes, herbs and spices.
We get food supplies from the local Market and Greece, milk from the local farm. All of our suppliers are certified and follow high hygiene and food safety standards. Our food safety management procedures are based on the HACCP system.
